All Tuckered Out!

So, over the past few weeks, Jemma has gotten into the habit of getting out of bed in the middle of the night to play. We'll see her bedroom light go on and then hear her playing with her toys. She has a castle/tower slide in her room and one night we found her sitting at the top of the slide looking at books. Another night she was playing with all her baby dolls and then another time she was into all the play food...anyway, one Saturday night/Sunday morning, she had gotten out of bed MULTIPLE times and didn't fall back asleep until 5:30am. Brandon and I thought for sure she would sleep until 10:00am or so. NOPE! She was up at 7:30am, ready to play. AHHHHH! Come 10:00 or so, Brandon decided to put on the DVD "Praise to the Man". Jemma is a huge fan of movies...or as she terms them, "moo-moos". So, she hopped up on the couch and got really comfortable with her favorite blanket. Not 5 minutes into the movie, she was out cold. We had to wake her up to eat lunch and get to our church meetings at 1:00. This girl!

Happy Valentines Day!

While Brandon was gone to school today, Jemma and I made sugar cookies as our fun Valentines Day activity. However, we had gone out and played out in the snow right before, and Jemma really wanted to keep her snow gear on, so...that's why she's bundled up at the counter "decorating sugar cookies" but mostly just eating the frosting. Yum!

Jemma is our sweetheart! She may be TWO and a bit testy at times, but all in all, she makes our lives a million times better. Jemma loves to play with playdough, take all the cushions off the couches and jump into them, play with leggos, wrestle and box with her daddy, snuggle with her mommy, and sing (not quite on tune) and dance to the music from the movie Hairspray! She loves all the Disney princesses and knows most of their names. She is constantly asking Brandon and I to draw them for her. (Sadly our artistic abilities have not improved!) We are so grateful for her life and I'm sure she will be so exited come May for her new sibling...Mom and Dad are a little boring.

SNOW!

So, word has it that Rexburg has not had a winter like this since 1993!!! We have had so much snow it's incredible. I don't know that the pictures do it justice, but just to give you an idea of the amount of snow we're dealing with, the bottom window in the front of the house is about half a foot about the ground and in the picture it's more than half covered! We have to shovel our walkway sometimes multiple times a day depending on the snow fall so that we don't get stuck inside our home! Our poor car has gotten stuck in the snow in the driveway numerous times and needless to say, we can't wait for a good thaw!

One of Jemma's favorite foods is ORANGES! Lately, when she eats them, she puts the whole thing in her mouth and gives a big grin before separating the peel from the fruit...just like I did when I was a kid! I seem to be doing it a lot more lately...we just have too much fun when we eat! :o)
