Jemma is officially in love. She LOVES her pajamas. Seriously...it takes some serious coaxing to get her to choose to get dressed in the morning AND she is always begging me to get back into her pajamas at like 2:00 in the afternoon! Silly girl. Sometimes, if we're not going anywhere else, I let her, but most of the time I tell her that she really ought to stay dressed in her "day time clothes" until we're done with dinner. Most of the time it just doesn't matter what I say though...she just disapears for a few minutes and the next thing I know, she comes out of her room in another set of PJ's!

Second...

Jemma really likes feeding Carter...hmmm, Carter's feeding sessions are already messy enough, but with Jemma behind the spoon, messy is newly defined!

You can't see it here, but this boy had food in his ear too...Gross!!! How do you get someone's ear if you're aiming for their mouth?

Third...
Carter has his first tooth! If you look closely, you can see it just barely poking out above his little gums...it's the best shot I've been able to get ... he's a little stingy with the BIG grins when I pull out the camera. But ANYWAY, he's got a tooth!

My Valentines

I had THREE Valentines this year...Brandon, my all-time Sweet Heart, and my cute kids Jemma and Carter. (Jemma was a little stingy with the photos today...the one below Brandon and Carter is the only one I could muster from her... at least she's not frowning!)

Yesterday, just because it's tradition to decorate sugar cookies on holidays, Jemma and I did just that during "quiet time"...that may just be one of the funnest quiet time activities we've ever had!

Just a few of the statements Jemma made OVER, and OVER, and OVER again...

"Mommy, this is so fun!"

"Uh-oh, I make a mess!"

"Mmm, this is so GOOD!"

Hopefully you can tell which plate Jemma did and which one I did... in Jemma's eyes, more is deffinitly better! More frosting and more sprinkles that is...in other words, the less cookie you can make out, the better! :o)

Today, while Carter was napping, Jemma and I decorated for our Valentine's dinner. Jemma was SOOOO excited about the balloons. When she first saw them, she said "Oh Mom! They're so pretty! Good job!" Oh the simple joys of childhood!

For dinner, we had shishkabobs (even Brandon wasn't sure how to spell that one...) Veggie and Chicken with bbq-ed asparagus, rice and broiled pitas...if you're tired of french bread/rolls/or whatever, pitas with a little butter and garlic salt, broiled in the oven, are quite tasty!

So the picture isn't that great, but the food was ExCeLlEnT!

For desert we dipped strawberries in chocolate...at first they started out looking pretty good, but they just seemed to get less and less appetizing in appearance...we ate 'em anyway! (Strawberries and chocolate...I like them seperate, but I like them even better combined!)

And then for "second deserts" we had a TON of candy. We recieved Valentines from some family and HoLy CoW! It looked like it was Halloween, only with a whole lot more pink!

To finish off the night, we watched "The Princess Bride" as a family, ate treats and gave back rubs...life is pretty good!

I sure love my family - not just on Valentine's Day. But it sure was fun to do a little more today just to show it.

F.Y.I.

Carter has this perfect sideways ringlet on the back of his head. I LOVE to play with it and I REALLY hope he ends up with curly hair all over his head. I think a little boy with lots of curls all over his head is AdOrAbLE!!! (Brandon would beg to differ...) All the same, I LOVE that little curl!

Jemma is a HARD-CORE Leggo girl these days. She's always pulling out the bag of "MEGA BLOKS" and saying "Mommy, you want to build sumping?!?" And I say back enthusiastically, "YA!!! Let's build 'sumping'!"

Not Bad!

Carter's favorite snack these days is a little TOILET PAPER! Yuck! If the bathroom door gets left open, he HAWLS in there as fast as he can, and the FEAST begins!

Before and After

Before: Ronchy (is that a real word...?) old frame and kind of unattractive painting from Goodwill.

After: Frame with a fresh coat of paint and a little sanding for a "distressed look", 2x3ft. piece of wood with a couple coats chalkboard paint...Homemade Chalkboard!

Ode to the kiddos!

I just had to post in honor of my children. These two little people SLAY ME!!! Brandon and I can talk about these two for TOO long and TOO late. These photos speak a thousand words...

I found Jemma and Carter sitting on the floor...Jemma looking at books, Carter watching Jemma in between his snacking on the books. PrEcIoUs!!

CARTER DID IT! Oh the Talent.

Mischeif Maker!!!! This boy is into everything these days, but his curious nature cracks me up! His favorite thing to get into is...you guessed it, the bathroom. Mostly the toilet paper and garbage can...YUCK! If that door is left open, he army crawls as fast as he can right in there and...Mischeif Making Begins!

One of Jemma's favorite things to do is "HELP"...me with dinner (wonderful), Carter with getting onto the couch(not so wonderful), Daddy with eating a snack while watching a Disney favorite...ya know, all the really important stuff.

The park is a big time favorite for Jemma. We just found this new place called "Out of this World Pizza"...holy cow they have two 2-story slides and any and every other fun play equiptment you could imagine...and it's all indoors! Perfect for here in Oregon! Last time we went, Jemma played for three hours straight...I had to bribe her with gum and fruit snacks to get her to come home with me.

What in the world would we do without these two? We are SOOO THANKFUL for their sweet spirits, for the good times that are more precious because of the not so good times :o), for the love they have for each other and for us. Thank Heaven for these little ones!
